How to connect your domain or subdomain to the Best App.

If you want to to connect your domain name to the Best app, follow these detailed 6 steps:


Step 1. Registration on the Best app:

Once you have downloaded the Best app:

  • Register on the Best app.
  • During registration, you must choose a unique username.

Important: Carefully note your Best app username, as it will be necessary for the following steps.


Step 2. Decide the subdomain name that you want to connect to the Best app:

Example: if your domain name is yourdomain.com, then:

  • Choose the subdomain: best to connect and get your content on: best.yourdomain.com
  • If you want to connect and get your content directly on the root of your domain: yourdomain.com leave the subdomain at blank/null value in the next following steps.

Step 3. Add 2 new A-type records to your domain:

  • Log in to the control panel of your domain at your registrar website.
  • Select the domain you wish to connect to the Best app and go to the DNS management section for this domain.
  • To connect your domain to the Best app, you will need to add 2 new A-type records to the DNS settings of your domain.

For adding each of these A records, you need to enter the same subdomain (that you choosed) and a target/value = IP address.

This subdomain must point to the 2 IP addresses of the Best app.

  • For the first A record, make it point to the IP address target value: 46.182.5.203
  • For the second A record, make it point to the IP address target value: 46.182.5.204

Tips: Do a DNS check of your A records to check if you have well register your 2 new A records and get no other/older A records on the same subdomain.

Important - Potential Conflicts : Having pre-existing A records or AAAA records on the same subdomain can lead to conflicts. If there are multiple A records for the same subdomain pointing to different IP addresses, it can create confusion as to where the traffic should be directed.

Step 4. Add 1 new TXT-type record to your domain:

  • Log in to the control panel of your domain at your registrar website.
  • Select the domain you wish to connect to the Best app and go to the DNS management section for this domain.
  • To connect your domain to the Best app, you will need to add 1 new TXT-type record to the DNS settings of your domain.

For adding the new TXT record, you need to enter the same subdomain value (that you choosed earlier) and a txt value: bestapp-username (using the best app username that you created earlier)

  • Ex: if your subdomain is best and your username is billy, you must add a text record for the subdomain best with the txt value: bestapp-billy
  • Ex: if your subdomain is best and your username is kelly, you must add a text record for the subdomain best with the txt value: bestapp-kelly

Important: This step is essential to associate your domain and verify your ownership with your user account on the Best app.

Tips: Do a DNS check of your TXT records to check if you have well register your new TXT record on the subdomain.

⚠ ONCE YOU HAVE ADD ALL THE DNS RECORDS, IT CAN TAKE MINUTES TO 24 HOURS TO PROPAGATE ON THE INTERNET.


Step 5. Connecting the domain to the Best app:

After this 24h period, log back into your account on the Best app.

Go to your profile and click on the "Connect your domain" tab.

Follow the instructions to finalize the connection of your domain to your account on Best.


Step 6. Verification and tests:

After connecting your subdomain, check that everything works correctly by accessing your subdomain via a web browser.

Ensure that all the features of the Best app work well with your domain.
